2026 Photo Competition Announced

Forever Notts is inviting the community groups we have funded to take part in a photography competition celebrating the work you do across Nottinghamshire.

In 2027, Forever Notts turns 30. Over those three decades, more than £30 million in grants has reached community groups working on the things that matter most across the city and county – mental health, homelessness, support for older people, belonging, and young people’s futures.

To mark the anniversary, a collection of photographs is being put together that captures what that funding actually looks like on the ground: the care, kindness, and support that funded groups give to the people they work with every day.

A selection of winning photos will be printed, mounted, and exhibited at a public event on Nottinghamshire Day, Tuesday 25 August 2026.

Non-winning entries may also be used in Forever Notts promotional materials, with credit to the group.

Prizes

All prize money goes directly to the group, not to individuals:

  • 1st prize: £1,000
  • 2nd prize: £500
  • Runners-up: £50 each (multiple awards available)

The competition is sponsored by Martin Knox through the Nottingham Creative Fund. Judging will take place in mid to late July by a panel including Forever Notts CEO Nina Dauban and Martin Knox.

How to enter

Choose four or five of your best photographs showing your group’s work. Alongside them, write a short paragraph about what you love about what you do and the people you work with – a few sentences is enough.

Save everything in a folder on your computer, named after your group. Photos should be JPEGs between 550KB and 1.5MB, clear and well-lit. Up to five photos per group.

Permissions

Before submitting, please make sure that everyone appearing in your photographs – children, young people, and adults – has given permission for the photo to be taken and shared. For children, that means consent from a parent or guardian. By submitting, you also give Forever Notts permission to use the photographs in promotional and celebratory materials, including the 30th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

Full instructions, including the permissions information in detail, are in the READ ME document in the Dropbox folder. Please read it before uploading.
